How to Watch IPTV on a Samsung or LG Smart TV

Most Samsung and LG smart TVs made after 2018 can play IPTV directly, with no box and no extra cables. You just need an IPTV player app from the TV's own app store.

Before you start

  • Connect the TV to the internet (Wi-Fi or a network cable)
  • Update the TV software: Settings → Support → Software Update
  • Have your Afriptv login ready (we send it on WhatsApp)

Samsung Smart TV (Tizen)

  1. Press the Home button and open Apps.
  2. Use the search icon and look for the IPTV player we recommend on WhatsApp.
  3. Install it and open it.
  4. Some TV players show a "MAC address" and "device key" on the first screen. Send us a photo of that screen on WhatsApp and we will activate it for you.
  5. Otherwise, choose Xtream login and enter the server URL, username and password we sent you.

LG Smart TV (webOS)

  1. Press the Home button and open LG Content Store (or Apps).
  2. Search for the IPTV player we recommend on WhatsApp and install it.
  3. Open the app. If it shows a MAC address, send us a photo on WhatsApp so we can activate it.
  4. Or log in with the Xtream details (server URL, username, password).

Some TV player apps charge a small one-time activation fee to their developer after a free trial. This is separate from your Afriptv plan. Ask us on WhatsApp which player is best for your exact TV model.

Older or non-smart TV?

If your TV is not a smart TV, or the apps are not available on your model, an Android TV box or a Fire TV Stick plugged into the HDMI port is the easiest fix. See our Fire Stick and Android guides.

Yes. Most of these use Android TV / Google TV or VIDAA. Android TV models can follow our Android guide. For VIDAA, message us with your model.
Some TV players link your account to the TV using its MAC address. Send us a photo of that screen on WhatsApp and we activate it for you.
A recent Android TV box or Fire Stick 4K is usually faster at switching channels, but a good smart TV app works fine for most people.
